This privacy policy applies to the Fractal app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created as a free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Machine Learning & Federated Learning (Core Functionality)

The Application utilizes on-device Machine Learning (Artificial Intelligence) to participate in a decentralized computation harvesting framework. We take your privacy very seriously in this process:

• No Raw Data Transfer: The Application downloads training datasets (such as image bins) and processes them strictly locally on your device.
• Anonymized Aggregation: Only mathematical model updates (model weights and gradients) are transmitted back to our central orchestrator. No personal data, local files, or personal photos are ever uploaded to our servers.
• Resource Usage: Because the Application performs on-device training, it utilizes your device's CPU, memory, and battery.

Information Collection and Use

The Application connects to a remote server to function. During this process, standard network information is collected to ensure reliable communication:

• Network telemetry (e.g., connection status, download/upload success rates for model synchronization).
• The operating system version you use on your mobile device.

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.

Third-Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application. Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data:

• Google Play Services
• Google Analytics for Firebase
• Firebase Crashlytics

Data Retention Policy

Since the Application uses Federated Learning, the computational weights sent to the server are instantly aggregated with other users' data and cannot be traced back to your specific device. We do not retain identifiable user data on our servers. If you wish to stop participating in the decentralized network, you may simply uninstall the Application.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the limited network information we process and maintain.

Children's Privacy

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will immediately delete this from our servers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes by updating this page. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
